groupe M53 - Rossignol

Groupe M53 consolidates with the support of Yotta Capital, Épopée Gestion, SWEN Capital Partners and BNP Paribas

The M53 Group, expert in selective sorting solutions, waste collection and hygiene equipment Made In France, intends to draw on the expertise of its new shareholders in industrial competitiveness and digitalization, decarbonization, regional roots and growth through acquisitions to support a new stage in its development.

Backed by over 130 years of experience, Rossignol, the historic company of Groupe M53, has established itself as a benchmark player in the French street furniture and hygiene market. Under the impetus of a management trio comprising Joël Bresteaux, Eric Fayol and Jean-Christophe Pascual since 2017, the Group has been strengthened with the complementary skills of two Western SMEs, Buton Industries and Lebeau Moulages Béton (LMB). These integrations fuel the Group’s diversification, as well as its solid positioning in the selective sorting and street furniture markets

Supported by the UI Investissement teams since 2021, the Group is now changing hands with a new quartet of financial investors comprising Yotta Capital Partners, Épopée Gestion, SWEN Capital Partners, as well as BNP Paribas Développement, thehistoric shareholder, renewing its confidence in the Group. Drawing on their joint expertise industrial competitiveness, decarbonization, revitalizing territories and improving CSR performance, the Group’s new partners will focus on supporting management on the pillars that underpin its development strategy, through both organic and external growth:

At the same time, and in direct application of this strategy, the Group relied on its new shareholders to acquire MPS Toilettes Automatiques, strengthening its industrial know-how and broadening the diversity and depth of its product ranges in the hygiene market.

A leading European player for over 30 years in the design, manufacture and marketing of public toilets, this Landes-based SME, with sales of around ten million euros, stands out for its leadership in a niche market, its industrial expertise in stainless steel manufacturing and its strong export presence. The management trio intends to capitalize on these strengths and cultivate commercial and industrial synergies, with the ultimate aim of furthering the Group’s growth.

For the three managers the head of Groupe M53, Joël Bresteaux, Eric Fayol and Jean-Christophe

“After a structuring partnership with UI investissement and BNP Paribas Développement, it was important for us to breathe new life into our strategy, whether organic or external.

The three of us are particularly pleased to have met our new investors Yotta, Épopée Gestion, SWEN, and BNP Paribas Développement, which has renewed its confidence in us for the second time.

For many years now, we’ve been working with our teams to grow the group through values that are important to us: French know-how at the service of our customers.

The new challenges of the industries of the future, in terms of decarbonization, were also major challenges for the Group. The support of our new partners will help us to meet these challenges.

Together with all the Group’s employees, we put our skills to work to achieve the objectives defined with all our partners.

For Benoît Perrot, Founding Partner of Yotta Capital Partners

“We are delighted and proud to support Joël, Eric, Jean-Christophe and their teams in this new pivotal phase for the Group with our Yotta Smart Industry fund, backed by the Pays de la Loire Region via its Pays de la Loire Participations fund. Their solid, diversified positioning in the selective sorting and street furniture markets, their industrial expertise, their roots in the Pays de la Loire region and their conviction and approach to ESG issues were enough to convince us that they were a good fit with our industrial investment thesis. We will be keen to support the materialization of synergies generated by acquisitions, the digitalization of their industrial tools, and of course, the decarbonization of their activities.”

For Aymeric Le Renard, Partner at Épopée Gestion

“Groupe M53 is a French industrial group established in our regions: Pays de La Loire, Centre Val de Loire and now Nouvelle Aquitaine with the acquisition of MPS. We are convinced that the management’s approach of maintaining manufacturing in France is the right one to best serve its customers. We will be at their side to continue and accelerate the development of a group that contributes to the challenges facing our society, notably through selective sorting.”

By joining forces with Groupe M53, which specializes in street furniture and selective sorting, we are making a concrete contribution, notably through our Territoires Innovants range, to building more responsible and ecological cities. We are convinced that the transition to sustainable urban spaces is not only essential, but beneficial for everyone.

For Julien Marronnier, Director of Investments at BNP Paribas Développement

“We are delighted to continue to support the M53 Group through this buyout, which in particular enables the management team to strengthen its presence in the Group’s capital at the end of successful development phase. This transaction illustrates BNP Paribas Développement’s ability to take a long-term view by making stable resources available to companies and high-performance teams .”
