SunLib and Épopée Gestion announce a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of turnkey photovoltaic installations to as wide an audience as possible. SunLib offers a solar self-consumption solution available as a long-term subscription throughout France. Épopée Gestion is providing €25 million to support SunLib’s strong growth in the emerging subscription market. This gives the company greater capacity to accelerate its pioneering and resilient business model, which aims to equip 100,000 customers by 2030.

An investment to democratise the use of solar energy
A pioneer in solar self-consumption subscriptions in France, SunLib enables individuals, businesses and local authorities to install photovoltaic systems by removing two major obstacles: the initial cost and the complexity of access.
Rather than purchasing their equipment, SunLib subscribers pay a monthly subscription fee for its use. No down payment or credit is required for individuals, and there is no heavy investment or debt for businesses and local authorities. Everything is included in the subscription package, from the feasibility study to guarantees that the equipment will function properly throughout the contract period.
This subscription model responds to a strong desire among French people, the majority of whom are in favour of developing solar energy (86% according to a recent Ifop study). It gives as many people as possible easy access to the benefits of solar energy: producing and consuming green, renewable electricity, gaining energy independence, controlling their budget by reducing their energy bills, and decarbonising without going into debt.
The strength of the model deployed by SunLib lies in its partnership-based approach, which brings together local players in the energy transition by drawing on a vast network of independent local installers certified as RGE (Reconnu Garant de l’Environnement/QualiPV) and approved by SunLib. This approach, which is firmly rooted in the local area, sets itself apart in the market by combining local expertise with tangible impact to accelerate the energy transition.
Already a leader in its market, SunLib demonstrates month after month that subscription is the answer to the major challenge of France’s energy transition: democratising solar energy to increase mass self-consumption of electricity in a country where only 2.5% of households are equipped with photovoltaic installations, compared to 15% in Germany.
SunLib, which already has more than 300 partner installers and major retailers among its distributors, is experiencing rapid growth in its subscriber base, automatically leading to an increase in its investment needs, as the company owns the installations. The funds raised from Épopée Gestion will finance equipment for thousands of new subscribers from 2026 onwards, while also benefiting the local network of installers.
A shared ambition to support the energy transition
For Épopée Gestion, which operates through its Infrastructure and Climate funds, the solution offered by SunLib is a response to the challenges of low-carbon transition that combines energy performance and local roots. The approach also has an exemplary climate trajectory (aligned with 1.6°C), actively reducing CO₂ emissions and meeting the most demanding criteria for environmental sustainability. Both mission-driven companies, SunLib and Épopée Gestion share aligned values in supporting the development of renewable energies in local areas.
“We believe that France offers extraordinary potential for the development of photovoltaics and that subscription is the solution to address this potential,” says Arnaud Langlois, President and co-founder of SunLib. “With Épopée Gestion, we share the vision of an energy transition accelerated by the democratisation of solar energy in the regions through subscription. We welcome their strong commitment to working alongside us. Since its creation, SunLib has chosen to establish a regional presence by forging partnerships with local installers and deploying a local sales force. SunLib’s strong growth since its creation demonstrates the success of a model that does not depend on government subsidies.”
“Épopée Gestion is particularly enthusiastic about supporting SunLib in accelerating its development in France. We have identified SunLib as a committed and visionary team that, with its solar subscription solutions, is democratising access to affordable, local and carbon-free electricity. With our shared culture of innovative entrepreneurship, we are already working on new services that will soon complement the solar subscription offering for individuals, businesses and local authorities,” says Emmanuel Walliser, Director of Infrastructure at Épopée Gestion.
